Grimes Accidentally Mentions Birth of Daughter

Grimes has let it slip that she and Tesla co-founder Elon Musk have welcomed a daughter into the world.

On Thursday, 10 March, in an article published in an American magazine, Grimes was being interviewed when a baby started crying, which she admitted was her daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl, who is simply called “Y” for now.

According to the 33-year-old musician – real name Claire Elise Boucher – she and her on-and-off again technologist bae had covertly used a surrogate to add a second child to their family some time in December.

Tweeting about the aforementioned article on the same day, she also said that she and Musk were no longer together, but referred to him as ​​”my best friend and the love of my life.”

In May 2020, Grimes and the 50-year-old SpaceX CEO had their first child, a boy named X Æ A-12, who stirred up news headlines across the world thanks to his complicated name. Complications from his birth was the reason the couple sought out a surrogate for their second child.

Despite their “fluid” relationship and living in different homes, explained Grimes, they’re both dedicated to co-parenting and intend to have more children. Musk already has seven other children from his previous marriages.

“We’ve always wanted at least three or four,” said Grimes.
